Central Baptist Church has experienced over 177 years of God’s grace, His Mercy and favor.
We are a diverse faith family united in our commitment to build the kingdom of God by equipping disciples through engaging ministry spiritually, physically, emotionally, culturally, socially and financially.
Established during the days of slavery, Central is the second oldest Black church in St. Louis. Central’s Pastoral leadership has been progressive, visionary, and transformative. Her discipleship has been Christ-centered and purpose-driven. Following the command of Christ and under the leadership of God’s visionary under shepherds, Central’s pedigree has been, is, and continues to be salt and light to influence and impact the St. Louis area.
If the Lord tarries as far as His return, in 2026, we will celebrate 180 years of being the Lord’s church through preaching, teaching, witnessing, baptizing and serving. Our ability to be around this long is a testament to the keeping power of the Holy Spirit.
